Nationwide HPV vaccination drive against cervical cancer

  • Under the nationwide cervical cancer vaccine campaign launched on February 28, 2026, the government provides free HPV vaccination to 1.15 crore girls aged 14-15; India bears a quarter of the global cervical cancer burden with about 1.2 lakh new cases and 80,000 deaths a year.
