CDSCO approved Novo Nordisk's Wegovy (semaglutide injection, 2.4 mg) for a new indication, non-cirrhotic MASH (metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis) with moderate to advanced liver fibrosis.
It is the first and only GLP-1 receptor agonist approved globally and in India for this indication.

Vikram-1: India's first privately built orbital rocket launched

Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace launched 'Vikram-1' from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, on July 18, marking the first-ever private orbital-class rocket launch in Indian space history, authorised by IN-SPACe.
The four-stage, 24-metre rocket, named after Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, has a payload capacity of 350 kg and carried research payloads from Dhruva Space and Ananth Technologies to place small satellites in low-earth orbit, following the 2022 sub-orbital Vikram-S test.

India's first hydrogen-powered train flagged off

Madras High Court clears the way for government jobs to families of Karur stampede victims

The suspended Sub-Registrar involved, Justin Manikandan Subramanian, was granted interim bail till August 4 with directions to report daily to the CB-CID; the Palani sub-registrar and an inspector were also questioned, and the District Registrar remains under suspension.
