Where can I download the important articles PDF?

Use the download button at the end of this page. The PDF is free and carries all 56 articles in English and Tamil.

Which article is called the heart and soul of the Constitution?

Article 32, the right to constitutional remedies - Dr. B.R. Ambedkar called it the heart and soul of the Constitution. It lets you move the Supreme Court directly when a Fundamental Right is violated.

What is the difference between Article 32 and Article 226?

Both give writ power. Article 32 is itself a Fundamental Right and works only for enforcing Fundamental Rights, in the Supreme Court. Article 226 gives High Courts writ power for Fundamental Rights AND for any other purpose - so the High Court power is wider in scope.

What are Articles 352, 356 and 360?

The three emergencies. 352 is National Emergency (war, external aggression or armed rebellion - used in 1962, 1971, 1975). 356 is President's Rule in a State. 360 is Financial Emergency, never proclaimed in India.

Which article deals with the Money Bill?

Article 110 defines the Money Bill. It can be introduced only in the Lok Sabha, the Rajya Sabha can only recommend changes, and the Speaker's certificate on whether a Bill is a Money Bill is final.

Which article created the GST Council?

Article 279A, inserted by the 101st Amendment Act, 2016. The GST Council is chaired by the Union Finance Minister. The first official GST recommendation came from the Kelkar Task Force, 2004.

Is the right to property a Fundamental Right?

Not any more. The 44th Amendment, 1978 removed it from the Fundamental Rights; it survives as Article 300A, a constitutional legal right. This is one of TNPSC's favourite trick questions.

Which articles matter most for TNPSC Group 2 and Group 4?

Fundamental Rights (14 to 32), Fundamental Duties (51A), the panchayat articles (243, from the 73rd Amendment), Election Commission (324), voting age (326), the emergency articles (352, 356, 360) and Money Bill (110) appear across all TNPSC levels, including SSLC-standard Group 4 papers.
