The Singapenn Special Task Force is Tamil Nadu Police's women's safety force. The Budget speech states that the Government aims to build a society entirely free from crimes against women and children, and strictly adheres to a 'Zero Tolerance' policy towards such crimes. In line with the Chief Minister's announcement, the Singapenn Special Task Force has been constituted to enhance women's security through women-centric policing, emergency response and proactive crime prevention. An amount of Rs.354 crore has been allocated for the necessary police force, infrastructure, equipment, training and operational requirements of this Task Force. Earlier in the speech, the Task Force is also listed among the significant accomplishments recorded since the Government assumed office.
The first order (G.O. No.176, Home Department) set up the force at the State level with 36 posts, on a proposal of the Director General of Police dated 9 May 2026; the force reports to the Chief Minister, and it follows the model of Telangana Police's SHE Teams. The order of 9 June 2026 extended it to all districts and cities, with district and city units, field units in police sub-divisions, a headquarters control room and extra staff for the State Police Master Control Room. Its work covers hotspot surveillance, safety audits, awareness in schools, colleges and workplaces, social media monitoring, patrolling of vulnerable places, rapid response, and counselling for women in distress.
