The TNPSC Group 4 exam 2026 is scheduled for Sunday, 20 December 2026, as per TNPSC's official annual planner (Programme of Examinations 2026). The notification is expected on 6 October 2026. In the last Group 4 exam the single paper ran from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM, and the same timing is expected this time. The exact dates and timing will be confirmed in the notification - we will update this page the same day it releases.

How Exam Day Works

  • One paper of 200 questions in 3 hours on an OMR sheet: 100 questions of Tamil, 75 of General Studies, 25 of Aptitude and Mental Ability, for 300 marks in total.
  • Based on the last notification, expect to report about an hour early for identity checks, with gates closing before the start - the hall ticket will state the exact times.
  • Do not carry mobile phones, smart watches or any electronic device - they are banned in the exam hall and no safekeeping is assured.

Your Preparation Timeline

  • Now to 6 October: finish one full reading of the 6th to 10th standard books (Tamil and General Studies) and keep your OTR profile ready.
  • 6 October to end November: apply early, then revise unit by unit with daily question practice - Part A Tamil needs 60 out of 150 for the rest of your paper to be evaluated, so give Tamil real time, not leftover time.
  • December: full-length practice tests on the 9.30 AM clock, previous year papers, and revision notes only - nothing new in the last week.

  • கடந்த அறிவிப்பின்படி, அடையாளச் சரிபார்ப்புக்காக சுமார் ஒரு மணி நேரம் முன்பே வர வேண்டும்; தேர்வு தொடங்கும் முன் வாயில்கள் மூடப்படும் - சரியான நேரங்கள் ஹால் டிக்கெட்டில் இருக்கும்.
  • கொண்டு செல்லக்கூடாதவை: மொபைல் போன், ஸ்மார்ட் வாட்ச் உள்ளிட்ட எந்த மின்னணு சாதனமும் தடை; பாதுகாப்பு வசதி உத்தரவாதம் இல்லை.

  • டிசம்பர்: காலை 9.30 நேரப்படி முழு அளவிலான பயிற்சித் தேர்வுகள், முந்தைய ஆண்டு வினாத்தாள்கள், குறிப்புகள் மட்டும் - கடைசி வாரத்தில் புதிதாக எதுவும் வேண்டாம்.
