TNPSC Group 4 Notification 2026: 6,574 Vacancies, Exam 10 Jan 2027

TNPSC குரூப் 4 அறிவிப்பு 2026 வெளியானது: 6,574 காலியிடங்கள், தேர்வு 10 ஜனவரி 2027

TNPSC released the Group 4 notification on 6 October 2026. It is Notification No. 11/2026 (Advertisement No. 747) for the Combined Civil Services Examination - IV (Group IV Services). There are 6,574 vacancies in 46 posts. That is about 2,640 more than last time (3,935). Apply online on or before 5 November 2026. The exam is on Sunday, 10 January 2027. This is 3 weeks later than the date in the TNPSC annual planner (20 December). All the details below are from the official notification.

The three biggest posts are Junior Assistant (Non Security), Tamil Nadu Ministerial Service - 2,610; Typist, Ministerial / Secretariat Service - 856; and Junior Assistant (Accounts), Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation - 422. These numbers can still change before counselling. TNPSC will give the department-wise list later.

Who Can Apply

Education: for most posts, an SSLC (10th standard) pass is enough. This includes VAO, Junior Assistant, Bill Collector, Revenue Assistant, Tax Collector, Record Clerk and Forest Watcher. Some posts need more:
- Junior Assistant (Accounts): a B.Com degree. Some board and corporation posts also need a degree.
- Typist and Steno-Typist: a pass in the Government Technical Examination in typewriting or shorthand.
- Laboratory Assistant: HSC with science.
- Forest Guard with Driving Licence: HSC with science, a driving licence and 3 years of driving experience.
Age (on 1 July 2026): general category 18 to 30; BC, BCM and MBC/DC up to 32; SC, SC(A) and ST up to 35. For VAO you must be at least 21. If you are from a reserved category and studied more than the minimum (for example HSC or a degree), there is no upper age limit for most posts. These limits are 2 years lower than last time (32 / 34 / 37). See the full tables on our Group 4 age limit page.
Tamil: you must know Tamil. You qualify if you studied Tamil as a subject in SSLC, HSC or degree, or studied in Tamil medium, or passed the TNPSC Second Class Language Test in Tamil.
Fee: Rs. 100. Some categories can apply free, but each free application uses up one of your free chances.
How to apply: only online, at www.tnpscexams.in, with your One Time Registration (OTR) login. Your Aadhaar must be linked to your OTR. Your photo must be taken on or after 6 October 2026. Our free TNPSC photo and signature editor makes both files in the right size.

Exam Pattern - One Paper, No Interview

You must score at least 60 out of 150 in Part A. If not, Parts B and C will not be checked. The minimum pass mark is 90 out of 300 for everyone. Your rank comes from this one paper. After that come certificate checking and counselling. The two forest posts also have a physical test and a long walk in Chennai (25 km for men and 16 km for women, in 4 hours). The syllabus (code 496) is the same as last time.

What to Do Now

Apply early. Do not wait for 5 November, because the website becomes slow in the last days. Check that your name, date of birth and community match your SSLC certificate.
You have about 13 weeks to the exam. Study Tamil first. It is half the marks, and you need 60 in Tamil for the rest of your paper to be checked.
In the exam, shade an answer for every question. If you do not know, shade (E) "Answer not known". TNPSC cuts 0.5 mark for each question you leave fully blank.

யார் விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம்

கல்வித் தகுதி: VAO, இளநிலை உதவியாளர், வரித் தண்டலர், வருவாய் உதவியாளர், வரி வசூலிப்பவர், பதிவுறு எழுத்தர், வனக் காப்பாளர் உள்ளிட்ட பெரும்பாலான பதவிகளுக்கு SSLC (10-ஆம் வகுப்பு) தேர்ச்சி போதும். சில பதவிகளுக்கு கூடுதல் தகுதி தேவை: இளநிலை உதவியாளர் (கணக்கு)-க்கு B.Com பட்டம், சில வாரிய / நிறுவனப் பதவிகளுக்கு பட்டம்; தட்டச்சர், சுருக்கெழுத்து தட்டச்சர் பதவிகளுக்கு தட்டச்சு / சுருக்கெழுத்தில் அரசு தொழில்நுட்பத் தேர்வு; ஆய்வக உதவியாளருக்கு அறிவியலுடன் HSC; ஓட்டுநர் உரிமத்துடன் கூடிய வனக் காவலருக்கு அறிவியலுடன் HSC, ஓட்டுநர் உரிமம், 3 ஆண்டு ஓட்டுநர் அனுபவம்.
வயது (1 ஜூலை 2026 அன்று): பொதுப் பிரிவினருக்கு பெரும்பாலான பதவிகளுக்கு 18 முதல் 30; BC, BCM, MBC/DC-க்கு 32 வரை; SC, SC(A), ST-க்கு 35 வரை. VAO-க்கு குறைந்தபட்சம் 21. குறைந்தபட்சத் தகுதியை விட உயர்ந்த கல்வித் தகுதி உள்ள இடஒதுக்கீட்டுப் பிரிவினருக்கு பெரும்பாலான பதவிகளில் அதிகபட்ச வயது வரம்பு இல்லை. இந்த வரம்புகள் கடந்த அறிவிப்பை (32 / 34 / 37) விட இரண்டு ஆண்டுகள் குறைவு. முழு அட்டவணைகள் எங்கள் குரூப் 4 வயது வரம்பு பக்கத்தில்.
தமிழ்: போதுமான தமிழறிவு வேண்டும் (SSLC, HSC அல்லது பட்டப்படிப்பில் தமிழை ஒரு மொழிப்பாடமாகப் படித்திருக்க வேண்டும், அல்லது தமிழ் வழியில் படித்திருக்க வேண்டும், அல்லது TNPSC நடத்தும் இரண்டாம் நிலை மொழித் தேர்வில் (தமிழ்) தேர்ச்சி பெற்றிருக்க வேண்டும்).

பகுதி A-வில் 150-க்கு குறைந்தது 60 எடுத்தால் மட்டுமே பகுதி B, C திருத்தப்படும்; அனைத்துப் பிரிவினருக்கும் குறைந்தபட்சத் தகுதி மதிப்பெண் 300-க்கு 90. இந்த ஒரே தாளின் மதிப்பெண்ணில் தரவரிசை; பிறகு சான்றிதழ் சரிபார்ப்பு, கலந்தாய்வு. இரண்டு வனப் பதவிகளுக்கு மட்டும் உடல் அளவீட்டுத் தேர்வும், சகிப்புத்திறன் நடைத் தேர்வும் (ஆண்கள் 25 கி.மீ., பெண்கள் 16 கி.மீ., 4 மணி நேரத்தில்) சென்னையில் உண்டு. பாடத்திட்டம் (குறியீடு 496) கடந்த முறை போலவே உள்ளது.

இப்போது செய்ய வேண்டியவை

நவம்பர் 5-க்கு முன்பே விரைவாக விண்ணப்பியுங்கள் - கடைசி நாட்களில் இணையதளம் மெதுவாகும். பெயர், பிறந்த தேதி, சாதிப் பிரிவு உங்கள் SSLC ஆவணங்களுடன் பொருந்துகிறதா எனச் சரிபாருங்கள்.
தேர்வுக்கு சுமார் 13 வாரங்கள் உள்ளன. தமிழுக்கு முதலிடம் கொடுங்கள்: பாதி மதிப்பெண் அதுதான்; 60 மதிப்பெண் வரம்பைத் தாண்டினால்தான் மீதித் தாளே திருத்தப்படும்.
தேர்வில் ஒவ்வொரு கேள்விக்கும் ஒரு விடையை நிழலிடுங்கள் - தெரியாவிட்டால் (E) "விடை தெரியவில்லை" என்பதைத் தேர்ந்தெடுங்கள். முழுவதும் விடப்பட்ட ஒவ்வொரு கேள்விக்கும் TNPSC 0.5 மதிப்பெண் கழிக்கும்.
